Happy New Year!

2013, wow!  A new year is here once again.  Hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday.  As we embark on a new year, I wish everyone all the very best.  This coming year is a very exciting one for me.  At the end of 2012 I decided to challenge myself to start this blog and put my work out there for people to see.  I then took the leap and submitted for several Design Teams and was amazingly surprised to land a spot on two fabulous Design Teams!  I am really excited to be a part of these teams and absolutely can't wait to be challenged, creative and "embrace" the opportunity that I feel very fortunate to have.

With all that being said, today my first Imaganise project is featured today on their blog for the January Sketch Challenge.

The challenge rules are as follows:
1. Create a layout/card using the sketch provided
2. Use at least 75% Imaginisce product
3. Use the color blue somewhere on your project
4. Theme : Pick ONE word that will describe you/your outlook for the year 2013

The Prize:
Love You More Collection pack

Submit your entries no later than January 25th, 2013
Entires must be submitted using the link provided on the Imaginisce blog.

And now my layout made based on the provided sketch:

The layout was made using Imaginisce's Geek is Chic Collection.  For the title I used Thickers and the journaling below the photos was done with my Cricut.  Photo embellishments I added are from Bo Bunny's Adlib Collection.

Visit the Imaginisce blog today to see all of Design Team member's January Challenge projects and submit your own for a chance to win a fabulous prize!

Today, I am also featured on Fotobella's blog.  With the dawning of a new year, I often find myself reflecting on the years past. In this layout using My Mind's Eye-The Sweetest Thing Tangerine Collection, I wanted to share a photo that portrayed the Best of 2011. The photo is one of the beautiful sunsets we witnessed while in Costa Rica. The colors in the collections meshed beautifully with those captured in the sunset photo.

I used all of the patterned paper in the "Together" theme of the collection. The large scallop die was made using the Lucky 8 Retro Scallop punch. also found at Fotobella.com

I used "the Best of..." sticker and matted it with the yellow Chevron paper. I used the devorative tape below the word "Best" so that I could add my own words that worked with the layout.

The butterflies were made with the butterly stickers. I put them on white cardstock, inked them and tied turquoise and white bakers twine.

January 1, 2013 is already a big day for me :)  I hope that we all have a fabulous year ahead of us, one that will enjoy reflecting on in the coming years.
